Nanyuki March 26, 2018–A record 37 drivers lined up for the 2018 Top Fry Rift Valley 1000 Classic Rally from March 29 to April 2.
They will be led by Raaji Bharij and Rajay Sehmi in a Porche 911 SC will race for 1500km through some of Kenya’s most scenic and demanding road sections in northern Kenya for five days in the old Safari format over the Easter weekend. Bharij will be closely followed by Carl Tundo fresh from an inspiring ARC Safari Rally victory, March 16-18 in Naivasha.
Scrutineering will take place on March 28 followed by the flagging off ceremony by the Laikipia County Governor the following day in Nanyuki. Competitors will transverse Laikipia northwards through Mugie to Lake Bogoria Spa Service Park before heading towards Loruk,Tangulbei, Paka Mountain, Nginyang and Makutani.
The classic rally brings together pre- 1984 rally machines which will be driven by drivers from United Kingdom, South Africa, Tanzania and Kenya.
