Spectator safety is the most important exercise and the organisers of the 2023 WRC Safari Rally wish to achieve and the FIA has a dedicated Safety Delegate who has the power to stop the running of any special stage which does not meet the Spectator Safety Standards.

    IMPORTANT VOLUNTEER INFORMATION

    Dear all,

    We have now had two WRC events (2021 & 2022) and three ARCs (2019, 2021 & 2022). We have had over 2,000 man-days of training from 2018 to 2022. However, there is no evidence that the training has had any impact on the running of our national and club motorsports events. The high standards demonstrated in the regional and international rallies should trickle down to the national and even club levels.

    In line with our objective of growing and nurturing talents at the grassroots levels (from county to village levels), it is imperative that the investment at the international and regional levels trickle down granularly. We, therefore, need to ensure that KMSF-affiliated clubs draw the knowledge and expertise we amass from the training and experiences at ARC and WRC events.

    In support of the above, we highly recommend that ALL safety volunteers join a KMSF-affiliated club. Membership of a KMSF-affiliated club will be an added advantage to being enrolled for any future training. As we all know, training (including pre-event refresher courses) is essential for selection as a volunteer for any ARC or WRC event.
